Cubit Zirconia: What Is It?

Cubic Zirconia Wedding Rings

Cubic zirconia, the stunning clear stone that can be seen in so many wedding bands and wedding rings, what is it and where does it come from? Cubic zirconia is the better known name for zirconium dioxide in the cubic crystalline form. Generally colorless, this material is very tough and usually produces perfect results. It can be found in a lot of styles, sizes, and colors. Visually close to a true diamond, cubic zirconia has become a common replacement of the expensive stone since about 1976. Cubic zirconia is a replacement for diamonds in rings, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and just about anything else that people would like to have a some sparkle on.

Some people might claim that the real diamond is better, and indeed, why shouldn’t you get a real diamond bracelet instead of one with cubic zirconia? While there are numerous reasons one might name as to why they choose the zirconia, it normally all boils down to funds. Cubic zirconia is very affordable versus a diamond; that means that while a handsome sized diamond pendant would probably cost thousands of dollars, a cubic zirconia of the same visual appearance could cost a percentage of this price, even if it’s set in real gold.

Cubic zirconias can be seen in settings of white gold, yellow gold, silver, tungsten carbide, titanium, and many other kinds of materials. Since buyers can now obtain select cubic zirconias, there is no more the need of having to pay thousands of dollars on a diamond, especially if one is afraid to lose the diamond or have it robbed.

Let’s face it; if you’re wearing a large and very costly genuine diamond, how comfortable will you feel wearing it out in public? A lot of people who buy large and expensive genuine diamonds realize that they would rather leave the diamond safe at home and not show it off for an event or every day shopping. This is not a concern that bothers people who wear cubic zirconias.

Since there was so much progress in the making and styling of cubic zirconia, the difference between a genuine diamond and a very well crafted cubic zirconia can’t be recognized by many people. Usually, only trained proffesionals can see the difference; having said that, it is easy to see that people really do not care about others knowing whether or not they have a diamond or a cubic zirconia. In fact, you are the only one who will know it.
